Are FiveM player counts dropping? We measured 30 days

measurement

Are FiveM player counts dropping? We measured thirty days, and the short answer is: not measurably, in this window. The weekly average opened at 173,858 and closed at 172,100 — 1.0%. What dominates the data is not a decline, it is a weekly rhythm.

Weekly totals

We took the round nearest 17:00 local each day; because different hours of the day differ by up to a factor of two, days cannot be compared without fixing the hour. Each figure below is the mean of that week's seven days.

Across four weeks the mean moves between 172,100 and 177,923 — a band of 3.4%. That is not a trend, and in a thirty-day window it is not a change large enough to measure.

The dominant pattern: day of week

Split the same data by day of week and the picture sharpens. Each figure below is that weekday's mean across the four weeks.

The gap between the busiest and quietest day is 21%. That weekday-to-weekend swing is the largest and most consistent effect in the thirty-day series — and it is large enough to swamp any trend claim made from a one-month measurement.

Why the server count stays flat

While the player count swings, the server count barely moves: 34,945 on average in the first week against 35,134 in the last. That says the variation does not take the form of servers closing. Empty servers stay listed; the players redistribute by hour and by day.

There is also the average per server: total players can double while per-server occupancy does not budge. That is a picture about the timing of the ecosystem rather than its size.
